The President today announced his intention to appoint Wyatt Durrette to be a member of the
Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations for a term of 2 years. He would succeed
Mary E. Wall.
Mr. Durrette is currently a partner in the law firm of Maloney and Chess in Fairfax and Richmond.
He was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates in 1972 - 1978 and served on the courts of
justice, conservation and natural resources, and education committees. He taught at Northern
Virginia Community College in 1969 - 1971, Golden Gate University in 1966 - 1967, the
University of Maryland in 1967 - 1978, and Virginia Military Institute in 1962 - 1964.
He graduated from Virginia Military Institute (B.S., 1961), Johns Hopkins University (M.S.,
1966), and Washington and Lee University School of Law (LL.B., 1964). He is married, has six
children, and resides in Vienna, Va. He was born February 21, 1938.
