The President today announced the creation of a White House Coordinating Committee on
Private Sector Initiatives for the purpose of implementing private initiatives strategy.
The President has asked Michael K. Deaver, Deputy Chief of Staff, to chair the Committee and
coordinate the members consisting of the Assistants to the President for Cabinet Affairs,
Communications, Public Liaison, Intergovernmental Affairs, Policy Development, Congressional
Affairs, Political Affairs and staffed by the Special Assistant to the President for Private Sector
Initiatives.
The President developed the internal advisory committee to show his continued support for the
private sector initiatives program and to implement one of the final recommendations of the
President's Task Force on Private Sector Initiatives.
