The President today announced his intention to nominate Gwyneth Gayman to be a member of the
National Council on Educational Research for a term expiring September 30, 1984. She would
succeed Bernard C. Watson.
Mrs. Gayman is a former teacher, counselor, and department head at Sun Valley Junior High
School in Sun Valley, Calif. She is also a former member of the Los Angeles Board of Education.
She coauthored a text, ``Plotting Your Course,'' for graduating students. She has also been a
newspaper columnist.
Mrs. Gayman graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (B.A.) and received a
secondary teaching degree from Los Angeles State College. She resides in La Canada, Calif., and
was born March 24, 1914.
