The President today recess appointed the following individuals:
J. William Middendorf II, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the
Organization of American States, with the rank of Ambassador, to be a member of the Board of
Directors of the Inter-American Foundation, for a term expiring September 20, 1988. He will
succeed Marc Leland.
Langhorne A. Motley, an Assistant Secretary of State (Inter-American Affairs), to be a member of
the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Foundation, for the remainder of the term expiring
September 20, 1984. He will succeed Thomas O. Enders.
