The President today announced his intention to nominate Courtney M. Price to be an Assistant
Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (Enforcement). This is a new position.
Mrs. Price is currently serving as Acting General Counsel at the Environmental Protection
Agency. Previously she was Associate Administrator for Rulemaking at the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration in 1982 - 1983; Deputy Chief Counsel at the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration in 1981; staff attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at the
Department of Energy in 1979 - 1981; and an associate attorney with the law firm of Haite,
Dickson, Brown & Bonesteel in Los Angeles in 1975 - 1978.
She graduated from the University of Alabama (A.B., 1963) and the University of Southern
California (J.D., 1975). She is married, has two children, and resides in Washington, D.C. She
was born September 12, 1942, in Jackson, Miss.
