To the Congress of the United States:
In accordance with the Impoundment Control Act of 1974, I herewith report 226 rescission
proposals totaling $371,994,000.
These rescissions are proposed pursuant to the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984, and affect
International Development Assistance programs, Peace Corps programs, Overseas Private
Investment Corporation programs, programs in the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce,
Defense-Civil, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development,
Interior, Justice, Labor, State, Transportation, and Treasury, as well as programs in the
Environmental Protection Agency, General Services Administration, National Aeronautics and
Space Administration, Office of Personnel Management, Small Business Administration, Veterans
Administration, ACTION, Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Archives and
Records Administration, National Labor Relations Board, National Science Foundation, Nuclear
Regulatory Commission, Tennessee Valley Authority and the United States Information
Agency.
