Deputy Press Secretary Speakes on the Soviet-United
States Talks on Nuclear and Space Arms
August 6, 1986
The
United States and the Soviet Union will meet at the level
of experts in Moscow on August
11, 1986,
to discuss issues related to the negotiations on nuclear and space arms. The U.S. team will be led by
Ambassador Paul Nitze and will include Ambassadors
Max Kampelman, Edward Rowny,
Ronald Lehman, and Maynard Glitman, Assistant
Secretary of Defense Richard Perle, and Special
Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs Col. Robert Linhard. This meeting of experts is intended to support the
substantive negotiations in Geneva and the September
19 - 20, 1986,
meeting of Secretary of State Shultz and Soviet Foreign Minister Shevardnadze
in Washington.
