Nomination of Frances
Mathews To Be a Member of the National Advisory
Council on Educational Research and Improvement

The
President today announced his intention to nominate Frances Mathews to be a
member of the National Advisory Council on Educational Research and Improvement
for a term expiring September 30, 1990. She would succeed
Elaine Y. Schadler.
Mrs.
Mathews was a talk show host for KCSJ Radio in Pueblo, CO, 1983 - 1984. Prior to
this she was communications clerk for the Wyoming House of Representatives for
one session. She was a reporter and then editor for the Guernsey Gazette in Guernsey, WY.
Mrs.
Mathews graduated from Montana State University (B.S., 1954). She was
born December 24, 1932, in Deer Lodge, MT. She
is married, has three children, and resides in Pueblo.
