Scope Note

The following material concerns selected speeches requested under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by various researchers. This guide lists all of the open material about particular speeches in the chronological order the speeches were given.

As of June 26, 2007, the Library the entire collection of Speech Drafts with the exception of 1988-1989 speech drafts is open for research use. The White House Office of Records Management Subject File collections are open for research through SP9xx. We are currently processing the entire Speechwriting Office: Speech Research collection. We anticipate sections will be available in whole for research sometime in 2007. When these collections are completed, speeches should be accessed via these collection inventories rather than by individual speeches.
