Over 90% of the material within this subject category consists of the Congressional mail reports sent on a regular basis to the President. Staff members from the White House Office of Legislative Affairs culled correspondence from Congress down to specific questions or support/non-support remarks and identified the correspondence. The President frequently commented or questioned the correspondence in writing on the report. Documents containing the President’s handwriting were removed and placed in the Presidential Handwriting File. Duplicates were left in WH004-01.
