We are pleased to announce the ninth year of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Scholars Program.  The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library will bestow upon selected Ventura County graduating high school seniors the designation of Presidential Library Scholar.  This distinction will be reserved for those students who participate in the scholarship process and who have exemplified outstanding leadership skills. 

This year the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is pleased to be awarding $50,000 in scholarships with the top 3 scholarships between $5,000 and $10,000.  In addition, each of the top 3 students will select a teacher to receive $500 for use within their classroom.

Once again, we are placing equal emphasis on all parts of the application.  Therefore, we ask those writing letters of recommendation to address the scope of the applicant’s leadership qualities thoroughly. As to academic requirements, students with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 are encouraged to apply. Most people are not aware that Ronald Reagan was an average student; as such, I think you will agree for an “average” student, he attained greatness.  Because we believe there are many students who are similar to our 40th President, we ask you to focus on your students’ leadership skills first and academic skills second.
